Biography:

Nancy Amirkhanian received her bachelors degree from York University in 2005 and went on to complete her masters in counselling psychology from Adler University in Chicago. Ms. Amirkhanian also obtained a diploma as an Addictions Case Worker from McMaster University. She is a member of the College for Registered Psychotherapists. Her therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy therapies.

Ms. Amirkhanian has been involved in several research projects, such as investigating the benefits of computerized cognitive retraining amongst the forensic population.

Her previous work experience also includes a background knowledge in working with a variety of issues, such as depression / anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, anger management, pain management, and psychotic disorders. In the past, Ms. Amirkhanian has also taught addictions counselling courses at the post-secondary level. Ms. Amirkhanian has also worked in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings providing both group and individual psychotherapy.
